Naval Architects Pty Ltd (CNA) is a design and consultancy firm
established in 2002 to concentrate on servicing the commercial marine
sector both within Australia and overseas. The company utilises
the staff and office space of its long running sister company John
Lund Marine Design Pty Ltd (JLMD). As such CNA has access to the
wealth of information generated by JLMD since it was formed in 1981.
In the past, a diverse range of projects have been carried out
by both JLMD and CNA. Our clients have included government departments,
large and small companies and individuals both within Australia
and overseas. Counted amongst these projects are numerous full designs
of vessels including:
- Fast patrol and pilot boats
- Charter boats, including luxury Motor Yachts
- Passenger vessels and ferries
- Specialised cargo vessels
- Landing barges
- Floating plant and dredgers
In addition to full design projects, many smaller projects have
been undertaken including modifications and conversions, stability
assessment and consulting services provided for a wide variety of
vessels. Details and pictures of some of these previous projects
can be found on our Commercial Vessels or Charter & Fishing
Vessels pages.
Throughout many years of operation, both companies have collected
a variety of designs completed to different stages. A selected showcase
of these designs can be viewed on our Designs page.
Location
Our offices are located within the marine village of the Sanctuary
Cove. The resort covers more than 1000 acres, and is designed around
four man made harbours, located in what is perhaps Australia's leading
tourism destination, the Gold Coast. Queensland's Gold Coast is
a one hour drive from Brisbane International Airport, and thirty
minutes drive from Coolangatta domestic airport. Flying time to
Sydney is one hour and fifteen minutes. The Gold Coast is one of
Australia's premier tourist destinations, and is also home to a
wide range of boat building companies.
